COGIC leader Louise Patterson, widow of former Bishop G.E. Patterson, dies

People who knew her well said that the Mid-South would never be the same without her.
“A dear friend, a great woman of God, widow of the late Bishop G.E. Patterson has transitioned to glory,” Dr. Bill Adkins, pastor of Greater Imani Church, wrote in a tweet.Louise Patterson, evangelist, rest in peace in paradise.
Sunday, after returning home from the hospital, Patterson passed away.

Mance Aytchan, a longtime friend of Patterson, said, “When I walked into the church, I saw this tall, beautiful lady, who had on a beautiful hat and a beautiful dress.”
Evangelist Louise Patterson wore nothing but silk blouses, striking hats, and accessories that went with them.
However, she was so much more than just her classy attire.

Aytchan stated, “She always wanted to make sure that everyone was okay.”regardless of the cost.Do you require a supper?Are you okay?She appeared to have a detector, and it appeared as though she could detect any anomalies.
The music minister at the Temple of Deliverance Church was Aytchan.
He said that Patterson’s spirit has influenced him ever since he met her when he was 18 years old.
She will be remembered for being a role model for women.He stated, “She will be remembered as a giver and a God-fearing woman who loved people.”
Patterson made it her mission to expand her husband’s ministry after his death.

She wrote the book “A Rare Pearl,” led Bountiful Blessings Ministries, was general manager of WBBP radio, and was president of Podium Records.
Bobby White, a longtime friend and Bountiful Blessings vice president, stated, “I think there’s something to be said for a woman of commitment who would be with Bishop through the years of struggle and uncertainty, but she’s also a woman of love and grace.”
White stated that they will continue to carry out her mission and legacy as the community gets ready to say goodbye to a Memphis icon and role model.
“We want to continue being accessible to people in the same way that they have encouraged so many people over the years.He stated, “I am aware that would be something she would want us to continue.”
According to a spokesperson for the family, Ms. Patterson’s funeral has not yet been scheduled.
