Christy Uba, the National Youth Service Corps’ (NYSC) head of information and communications technology, has assumed “overseer” responsibility for the organization.
The news was released on Tuesday by Eddy Megwa, publicity and public relations director for the NYSC.
The change occurs a short time after Mohammed Fadah was fired as director-general of the NYSC.
According to TheCable, Fadah was asked to turn over responsibility to the corps’ highest-ranking official after being fired for alleged incompetence.Fadah, the 19th individual to hold the job of NYSC DG, was fired less than seven months after taking command. He started in May 2022.
Megwa stated in the statement on Tuesday that Uba will serve as a “overseer” while the corps searches for a new director-general.
According to a statement, “Mrs. Christy Uba, Director, Information and Communications Technology, has taken over the leadership of the corps in the capacity of overseer, pending the appointment of a substantive Director General by Mr. President,” following Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah’s removal as Director General of the National Youth Service Corps by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
